Hayworth, Joy
Social Studies/History/Economics/Government
After earning her BBA in accounting from Texas A&M University, Joy worked 12 years in public, private, and governmental accounting. She also owned and managed a small business for 5 years. In 2002, she and her husband made the decision that she would stay home full time with their two children. For the next 6 years Joy was a substitute teacher in her children’s schools, which inspired her to obtain teacher certification. Mrs. Hayworth came to NCTA in 2009. Joy’s business experience provides her with a unique opportunity to bring the real world into her classroom. She and her husband Mark are both natives of Hood County. Their children, Carla and Cullen, (an aspiring doctor and a future history teacher/baseball coach) are currently attending Texas A&M and Hardin Simmons Universities.
